HOMO FUTURUM
A skotch skirt project
Conventional notions of beauty are being challenged, and the aesthetic distinctions between women and men, as well as visual habits, are being deconstructed.
The showcased process culminates in the creation of a unisex skirt, symbolizing the next stage of human evolution. This endeavor does not seek to deny the existence of gender, but rather emphasizes acceptance and self-interpretation.
The only force that prevents us from revealing and living our true selves is our thinking in stereotypes. The pertinent question is not whether gender should serve as a means to segregate individuals into male or female categories. Rather, in a society comprised of independent and liberated individuals, we ought to question why we persist in dividing ourselves along various lines, be it gender, race, religious beliefs, or wealth. We are all part of the same human species and should conduct ourselves accordingly. Therefore I created a unisex skirt which is made for humans.
Drawing inspiration from both architectural and natural forms, I sought to demonstrate the harmonious coexistence of man-made and natural lines. This abstract metaphor serves as a reminder that the integration of nature and humanity is not only feasible but also essential for a harmonious future. By incorporating these influences into the design of the unisex skirt, I aim to convey the message that our relationship with nature should be symbiotic, and that embracing our connection to the natural world is crucial for a balanced and prosperous existence.
